CHERYL CRANDALL
As a native to Flagstaff I have found the area to be full of opportunity for optimal health and fitness. We live in a beautiful, clean, high altitude environment that allows us to explore the outdoors and challenge our fitness year round. For that reason, myself, as well as some of you are proud to call this place home. From childhood I have been involved in fitness in some aspect whether it was running, playing volleyball or basketball, downhill skiing, or horseback riding. My awareness of the significance of balancing proper nutrition, training, and rest for optimal performance became apparent as I wanted to excel in my sports and recreational activities. This led me to pursue certifications and degrees in health related professions. I have been involved in the fitness industry for 13+ years now. In that time I have earned a B.S. in Exercise Science and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from NAU. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through NSCA, and for the ski enthusiasts I am a level II alpine certified ski instructor through the PSIA. I believe that success is not just about reaching the goals you have set for yourself it is the journey you take to get there that is the most rewarding. With your determination and my level of expertise, we can explore this journey together to reach your individualized goals, and excel to higher levels of health and fitness. DUSTIN EVANS
Dustin is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, through the NSCA. He holds a B.S. degree in Health Promotion with a Minor in Strength and Conditioning from Northern Arizona University. Currently, he is in pursuit of his M.Ed., from Northern Arizona University. Dustin has been an integral part of FAC for over 6 years. Dustin is a proud native of the Flagstaff area, and takes full advantage of the surrounding beauty. He thoroughly enjoys the outdoors and competes in various sports throughout the year. Dustin believes, in order to achieve your health and fitness goals, it is mandatory that it becomes lifestyle. Proper Nutrition, Cardiovascular Training, Resistance Training, Agility/Balance, and Flexibility are necessities of this lifestyle. KATIE HAUGERUD
Katie has a Master's Degree in Health and Fitness Management from American University and a Bachelors Degree in Nutrition from Pennsylvania State University. She has been working in the health and fitness field since 1983. Katie has managed numerous corporate wellness programs. She has instructed weight management classes, stress management and a variety of fitness programs. Having two children, Katie recognizes the need for fitness programs that are efficient, balanced and convenient. She has also competed in triathlons and running races and can help design programs to meet more competitive goals. HANS LAKOSKY-DREXLER
As a nationally certified personal trainer since July 2002, I have seen first hand how quality of life can improve dramatically when people are inspired to live healthier. With my experience and intense personal dedication I can help you find your way to optimum health. Personal trainers utilize scientific research and collective experience to create individualized programs based on a person's goals and lifestyle. In addition to obtaining short-term goals, I believe in educating clients to prepare their body and mind for long-term success. Training with appropriate programming choices, good technique and proper breathing will produce the best results. With emphasis on perfect posture and effective core conditioning, you will save your body from unnecessary wear and tear! Heart rate based cardiovascular endurance training, strength training, nutrition counseling and making healthy lifestyle changes are all part of the plan. Working side by side with the Physical Therapists at Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers in Chicago has contributed to my knowledge of the human body and how to address issues of those clients recovering from injury or with specific exercise restrictions. TABITHA MAGNAN
Tabitha is a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and through the YMCA. Other certifications include CPR, First Aid, APEX, and Bodybugg. She plans to take her CSCS and indoor cycling exam in early February. She has played competitive soccer all her life, just finishing her 4 years of collegiate soccer at Northern Michigan University. Playing was her main focus earning the rank of 21st in the nation for goalkeepers, but was also involved with creating the women's and men's soccer team's weight program. As a former competitive athlete she strongly believes that nutrition is the key component for any program, whether it is sports performance, weight loss or weight gain. She has much experience with powerlifting, plyometrics, speed training, and free weights. She believes that anyone can incorporate these into their workout no matter their level. Tabitha loves to talk fitness and commits herself to helping people attain their goals. Tabitha also teaches extreme conditioning and works membership at the club. CAROLYN MAUL-LATHAM
Carolyn holds a MS in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health and is also a nationally certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Her passion in life is helping others create healthy, sustainable lifestyles. Finding the balance of excellent nutrition, adequate rest, and plenty of exercise is the key to creating this life. Carolyn creates individualized programs and is always happy to discuss nutrition in-depth with every client. She can help de-mystify fad diets, the glycemic index, and help you set realistic and attainable goals. Signing up for a fitness assessment at FAC is a great way to meet Carolyn and get started on a fitness program. Carolyn loves being active, and everyday strives to live what she teaches to her clients. She has completed three marathons and numerous other running events around the Southwest. She was co-captain of the women's Crew team at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, has competed in many triathlons including the Buffalo Springs Lake Half Iron man. Carolyn obtained Platinum status in the 109 mile Tour de Tucson in 2006 and took 1st in the MBAA Dust Devil mountain bike series in 2001. JOEY MCDONALD
Joey is a Certified Personal Trainer through American Council on Exercise (ACE). He is currently working towards his Bachelor of Science degree, in Health Sciences at Northern Arizona University. Joey was born and raised in Flagstaff, and loves it here. He grew up involved in many different sports year round, and has always had a great passion for sports. His main focus was basketball, where he played year round, and was a four year letterman at FHS. Also he has coaching experience on two different teams, one at the high school level and one in junior high. Fitness has always been a huge part of Joey's life and will always be. He really enjoys discussing with others and is always learning more about fitness. He wants to help people reach their goals in a safe and effective manner through nutrition, strength training, cardiovascular, and flexibility. Joey has been working at FAC for over two years, and loves his job. He plans on making personal training a part of his life long career.

MEGHAN O'CONNOR
Meghan is a native of Flagstaff, a nationally certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and holds a degree in Nursing. She also is an ACE certified group Exercise instructor and has been teaching various group fitness classes at FAC since 2003. Being an RN in the Emergency Department at Flagstaff Medical Center only further solidifies and extends Meghan's passion and knowledge for health and fitness. Multiple certifications through being an RN in the Emergency Department have been obtained including ACLS, PALS and ATCN. Educating and working with people in any way possible to help meet their health and fitness goals is a true excitement and priority. RISA RUTLAND
Risa is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She holds a B.S. degree in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University in North Carolina. She has a tremendous amount of experience with distance running, both at the collegiate and coaching levels. While at Wake Forest University, she competed in the NCAA National Cross Country competitions, was an Academic All American, and was nominated for the 2002 NCAA Women Athlete of the Year Award. Also, she has been an assistant cross country/track and field coach for Texas A&M University and Northern Arizona University. She has a great understanding of the mind and body through the various phases of running and aspects of physical fitness. Her desire is to help seasoned athletes and beginner exercisers reach their goals through both physical and mental preparation.

BRYAN STRAIN
Bryan is a nationally certified Personal Trainer; he received his training and certification through the International Sports and Sciences Association in 2004. Bryan moved from California to Arizona to attend NAU in search of a degree in Exercise Science and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has a great understanding of how to train the body from his 8 years as a competitive colligate and freestyle wrestler, his personal training certification process, and his other passion: Massage Therapy. There is nothing Bryan loves more than helping the human body attain optimal health and performance through proper diet, exercise and stretching. JOHANNAH M STRAIN
The last of four children, I was always competitive. I lettered in three sports in high school (swimming, soccer, and cross country) and have played soccer and water polo on club teams while in college. As an athlete I have always been interested in the body and how it functions and stays fit so I completed the ISSA (International Sports Science Association) certification and became a personal trainer. My life goal is to become a physical therapist and sports trainer. I am currently pursuing this goal at Northern Arizona University. I truly enjoy all aspects of sports training and look forward to helping others discover the joy in being active and physically fit. With my growing knowledge of exercise and the body I believe that I can help many attain their fitness goals.

HOLLY ZEITLER
Holly is a nationally certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise and holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from NAU. In addition to her personal training certification, Holly is an Apex Certified Fitness Professional. Originally from Wyoming, Holly has grown up in the outdoors and has a background in competitive sprinting and gymnastics. She personally believes that nutrition along with core, stability and flexibility training should be the foundation to any and all exercise programs. Holly loves working with individuals of all ages and fitness levels and will design a program specific to your needs. She believes there is nothing more rewarding than to help a client achieve their goals.

MANDY ROBERTSON, FITNESS DIRECTOR
As an ACE certified personal trainer since 1996 and a graduate of NAU with a BS in Exercise Science, I am a student of the human body. I strive to educate, motivate and inspire myself and those around me to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to reach their fitness goals. As director of the Fitness department I am constantly educating my staff to provide the most current and reliable information and service to all of our clients.
