Rachel Williams, LMT completed a 1000 hour massage program at the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in Tucson, AZ in 2003, where she studied massage with a therapeutic emphasis. She trained at a rehabilitation facility, with patients that had cancer, and with the University of Arizona softball team. Since then she has worked in several environments including Peaceful Spirit in Tucson, The Grand Traverse Resort in Michigan, and in her own private practice. Rachel has recently moved back to Arizona from North Carolina where she was a high school science teacher for three years. In addition to being a Licensed Massage Therapist, she holds a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences and Psychology from Grand Valley State University.

Planning to become a Physician’s Assistant, Rachel diverted from that path while dealing with back pain from scoliosis. She found so much relief from a wonderful massage therapist and Yoga that she was convinced that the massage thing was for real.  At the same time, she was working with people who had Traumatic Brain Injuries. Many of them had permanently seized up muscles, and she was amazed to see what even ten minutes of massage could do for them both physically and mentally.  Convinced of the healing power of massage and wanting to share it with other people, she moved to Tucson to become a Massage Therapist.

Rachel is excited to be a partner with her clients in their journey toward a healthier body and mind.  In a typical session, you will not only leave feeling better, but you will also leave with some stretches, exercises, and other ideas to help your body and mind continue moving toward a space of well being and happiness.

She is available at FACW on Wednesdays,Fridays and Saturdays by appointment. Rachel can be reached at (616) 402- 1702 to schedule a time.
