A new class taught by Keelyn Riley, will be offered at FAC West Diamond Room, 1:15 pm on Wed, beginning Jan 4. The practice of mindfulness has known benefits to health and well being. Mindfulness is the art of being fully present, without getting lost in an ocean of thoughts. Mindfulness is also the gateway to deeper practices of meditation. Meditation then carries us deeper into self and ultimately can bring us into a state of inner peace, balance and wholeness. These practices help to balance the nervous system and brain, and can actually improve metabo- lism as it helps to regulate stress responses and reduce cortisol levels.
